During the operation of a CNC lathe, the protection of the machine tool itself is particularly crucial, as it not only significantly impacts the machining accuracy of workpieces but also plays a vital role in the longevity of the machine tool. Today, Haishu Machinery, a CNC lathe manufacturer, will explain the three major protection mechanisms in the operation of the lathe body.
1. Regular Maintenance and Precision Inspection:
Geometric accuracy: Regularly use laser interferometers, ballbar instruments, and other devices to inspect the machine tool's positioning accuracy, repeatability, backlash, spindle radial/axial runout, guide rail straightness, etc. Calibration is performed through parameters such as pitch compensation and backlash compensation.
Maintenance: Strictly implement lubrication, cleaning, and rust prevention maintenance to ensure the proper condition of moving parts such as guide rails, lead screws, and bearings.
2. Control thermal deformation:
Preheating: Conduct an empty run preheating before processing (especially for the spindle and feed axes) to achieve thermal equilibrium in the machine tool.
Ambient temperature: Maintain a constant workshop temperature (e.g., 20°C ± 1°C), avoiding direct sunlight and air flow disturbances.
Cooling: Ensure the cooling systems for key components such as the spindle, lead screw, and motor are functioning properly.
3. Suppress vibration:
Foundation: The machine tool is installed on a stable, vibration-proof foundation.
Dynamic balancing: The spindle, chuck, and workpiece (especially large or irregular workpieces) must undergo proper dynamic balancing.
Stiffness: Ensure the machine tool-jig-tool-workpiece system has sufficient stiffness.
